An Post Love Stamp Design
An Post approached me to design the Love stamp. A uniquely heart-shaped stamp that uses a distinct process of papercraft illustration.
The process involved cutting out the stamp design from coloured paper and then arranging the paper elements into a multi-layered papercraft 3D scene that is carefully lit and photographed. I also designed and illustrated the series's booklet, First-Day Cover, and cancellation stamp.
Perfect for posting your Valentine’s Day Cards, wedding invites, fan mail to your favourite K-Pop band, or sending love to your nearest and dearest.
So, when you take a look at that huge pile of Valentine’s Day cards you are receiving, you'll know a little more about the stamp on the envelope.

My Process.
Creating paper craft illustrations requires careful planning and design. The production of the scenes from various paper stock and then lighting the scenes for the photograph. I find that limited colour palettes work really well and to spend time getting the lighting just right, creating depth and tone.
Cutting out the paper hearts.
Designing the lettering and cutting out the various heart shapes and letterforms.
Photographic the scene.
'Grá' means love in the Irish language.The letterforms are in traditional An Cló Gaelach (Gaelic type).
